Ohh Where, Oh Where, Should My Little Quote Be? - A Recovering Physicist's Apology

About Ohh Where, Oh Where, Should My Little Quote Be?

Recently Fleur suggested that I do something different with the position of the Quote of the Day. When it rests in the sidebar it does suffer. So where should the quote go? Fleur and I talked it over. There were some passionate speeches from both sides, feelings may have been hurt, but now is a time to come together. Fleur has suggested I stop putting the quote in the sidebar and, instead, place it as an entry everyday. I am not up for putting it in the sidebar and the context everyday, because I am lazy and have Half Life that needs played. So it is one or the other. Both the sidebar and the main contents have benefits. The sidebar is unobtrusive and will not flood your "friends" journal section with quotes. But adding the quote as an entry it will provide an archived quote of the day for all those not fond of cutting and pasting, and it will allow feedback on some of the more incendairy, funny, spectacular, lame, pathetic, dumb, and or unworthy quotes. What should I do? Feedback is always laughed at, err, appreciated.

Look here is a trial run:

Quote of the Day 11-21-04
How much do I know
To talk out of turn
You might say that I'm young
You might say I'm unlearned
But there's one thing I know
Though I'm younger than you
Even Jesus would never
Forgive what you do

I always look at your sidebar, personally.

Thinking out of the Box

Can't you add it as a box on the top of the page? ( I know nothing of lj formatting) The side box is better than the entries. I read the entries to stalk you, and I look at the side box of knowlege and amusement. Emily created a facebook profile for Charles Martin Hall, and I had her use you're Mark Twian quote for him! Just perfect. Oh and you should be his friend. And any one else who is a fan of good old Charlie.

What you could do, since it's a cut-and-paste job, is put it on the sidebar and also post it as an lj-cut. That way, people who usually view your entries via their friends page can see your QOTD if they want to, and those who don't care for it (perish the thought!) don't have to.
