Mii Troubles, Wii Troubles - A Recovering Physicist's Apology

About Mii Troubles, Wii Troubles

Previous Entry Mii Troubles, Wii Troubles Dec. 6th, 2006 @ 11:22 am Next Entry
The wii is region locked, which pains me because I cannot get one in Japan (not that I could find one in Japan anyways). This means I have to import: which also means I have to find one in the States. Though easier to get one in the States than Japan, it is still not going to be easy. This, sucks because I really really want a wii. They look super duper fun.

This leads me to my new icon: a modified image from the Japanese wii manual.

It is Nintendo of Europe's fault. The US and Japan Nintendo wanted the wii to be region free and planned it as such but for some reason (probably some asinine EU law) wii cannot be region free in Europe. It is the reason why PS/3 hasn't launched in Europe yet, their are a ton of issues with the region free-ness

The EU is one of those delightful bureaucracies that can sit down and regulate how much cocoa constitutes "chocolate" and that games can't be region free, but has no idea how to deal with the trivial matters such as how to deal with Iran...
